Grandmothers

What ever on earth, can a grandma be for?
She's older than dirt, with one foot out the door.
And what can she know about living today'
When nothing is done in her old fashioned way.
Oh sure, she's sweet, and you love her a lot.
But in terms of real life, what's an ol' grandma got?

Well listen, my sweetie, you might be surprised
To find that your grandma's a youngster disguised.
She still has her dreams, and her values intact,
She's just a bit wiser, yes dear, that's a fact.
Experience has put a few lines on her face.
And that's how she knows, what its like in your place.

I know this idea may seem baffling and new.
But honey, your grandmas "Been There, Done That", too.
So when your young life isn't going as planned.
Talk to your grandma ~she'll sure understand.
She's got lots of love and good counsel to give.
And she'll be on your side for as long as you live...

Isn't a grandmother grand...isn't a grandmother grand...
...grand like the joy when a spring robin sings
...grand like the thrill when cathedral bells ring
...grand like the feeling a holiday brings...
oh, isn't a grandmother grand?

And grandmother grand is forever your friend...
on earth, or in heaven, her love never ends
All the wisdom of ages stays at your command
in the spirit of grandmother grand.

Isn't a grandmother grand...isn't a grandmother grand...
...grand like the view from a mile in the sky
...grand like the peace on a tropical isle
...grand like the smile on the face of a child...
oh, isn't a grandmother grand?

And grandmother grand is forever your friend...
on earth, or in heaven, her love never ends
All the wisdom of ages stays at your command
in the spirit of grandmother grand.

And grandmother grand is forever your friend...
on earth, or in heaven, her love never ends
All the wisdom of ages stays at your command
in the spirit of grandmother grand.

Isn't a grandmother grand...isn't a grandmother grand?

I like to walk with Grandma,
Her steps are short like mine.
She never says, “Now hurry up!”
She always takes her time.

I like to walk with Grandma.
Her eyes see things like mine do.
Wee pebbles bright, a funny cloud,
Half hidden drop of dew.

Most people have to hurry
They do not stop to see.
I’m so glad that God made Grandma
Unrushed and young like me.

Are grandmas different today?
I only knew one of my grandmothers,
but I remember her as a "stay at home,
housewife/homemaker", wearing a
"housedress" as she went about her
daily chores. I remember her as being
very loving, but somewhat "reserved".

My grand-daughter once told me the
reason she loved me so much is because
I am "goofy." I sure did take that remark
as a compliment......
Would I have ever said such a thing to
my grandmother?...I think not!!!

So grandmothers, whether you are "reserved"
or "goofy", give your grandchildren lots
of hugs and I love yous'.
Love them, care for them, spoil them,
be their friend, but above all.
teach them good values!

God Bless all you Grand-mothers out there!!!

This song explains Grand-mothers perfectly....
