The rose is a flower 
that is loved by everyone
It tends to say what's in your heart 
when the words fail to come

Flowers come at happy times 
and sad times as well
They tend to ease the pain 
on which we should not dwell

A rose can say "I love you",
or sorry that you are blue
A rose can say, "Let's be friends"
or "I'm sorry for hurting you"

The rose can be a flower
or a very special name
It speaks in a universal language
to everyone it is the same

The rose will start as a small bud
and will soon be in full bloom
the beauty and the scent of it
will overcome the room

If you send or receive a rose
Hold it near in mind and heart
the sender and receiver
will never ever part
