Carousel Ride

As we ride on the carousel
my true love and me
We remember when we were young
how things used to be

The excitement of a carnival
coming to town
rides line the streets
up and down

The lights and music
oh what fun
Carmel apples, cotton candy
and foot long hot dogs
on a bun

Young girls spending time
walking along with their beaus
Little ones with their parents
tickled pink from their
head to their toes

The shouting and laughter
from the girls and boys
throwing darts at balloons
trying to win prizes and toys

Amidst all the noise
old folks wanting to tell
You are never to old
to ride the Carousel

There is nothing that brings back the memories
of your youth than to hear the music of a Carousel.
Just the thoughts of going to a carnival or fair
and see all the people having fun...
As a child, I can remember we would wait all year
for Corn Palace week....(a celebration in the town I live in)
The main street would be
completely blocked off, and the rides, games, and
food stands would be set up in the middle of the night.
We would go down town each day to join in all the fun.
The new rides of today are fast and thrilling
But
What stands out in my mind most of all, is hearing the
music of the Carousel for blocks away....
No matter how young or old you are, it is always fun
to take a ride on the
