Friend Jesus

When your troubles are heavy
and seem too much to bear
just have a talk with Jesus
He will show He cares.

When you are tired and weary
and feel you can't go on
Jesus is a friend
you can always call upon

When you are lonely
and don't know what to do
put your faith in Jesus
He will see you through

Does it seem things never go your way
and you feel troubled and misunderstood
does it sometimes feel it is very hard
to do the things that are right and good?

No matter what we say or do
Jesus is always there for you
when you're in need of love and care

"Take it to the Lord in prayer".

What a friend we have in Jesus
All our sins and grief to bear
what a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer

Oh what peace we often forfeit
Oh what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer

Have we trials and temptations
is there trouble anywhere
We should never be discouraged
Take it to the lord in prayer

Can we find a friend so faithful
who will all our sorrows share
Jesus knows our every weakness
take it to the lord in prayer

Are we weak and heavy laden
cumbered with a load of care
precious savior, still our refuge
take it to the lord in prayer

Do thy friends despise, forsake thee
take it to the lord in prayer
in his arms he'll take and shield thee
you will find a comfort there.
