The Big Night

At last, at last, the big night is here
taking our places, the time drawing near.
We have practiced and practiced
forever it seems
I've even practiced each night in my dreams.....

My heart is beating as fast as it can
would it beat any slower if I turned and ran?
"Slow down my heart", I say to myself,
Your friends are with you
You're not by yourself....

As we finally got seated in our spots on the stage
I searched the crowd, and who's eyes did I engage
None other than my Mom and Dad, smiling proudly at me,
as if to say, "don't worry my dear,
you will do fine, just wait and see

How foolish of me to be so afraid
the room is filled with family and friends
they will still love us all, no matter
how the song ends...

We played our hearts out
to the cheers of the crowd
What a wonderful feeling
to know we made everyone proud

The concert is over
I am happy and gay,
I won't be as afraid
Another day..

We have all at one time or other in our lives
experienced that fluttering heartbeat....
We worry and worry, and find out in the end
that our worries were all for naught...

My youngest son Ron had a poster hanging
in his room when he was in high school that said,

"Today is the day we worried about yesterday,
and all is well"

SO!!!

Turn your worries into positive actions, and
everything will take care of itself.....
God Bless!!!
