HEART TO HEART

here is my heart, it's yours to keep
please handle it with care
for it is easily broken
and a tender soul lives there


as delicate as fine china
as unique as classic art
I know you will appreciate it
I've sensed it from the start


God created it for a purpose
it was meant to beat for you
to know a love so powerful
I know you feel it too


it's for when your your day is meaningless
for when your hopes begin to die
and your need so strong to feel a love
that the ache just makes you cry


place this heart beside your own
trust it to know what to do
it needs no invitation
it's already a part of you


you are the sole recipient
I won't give it ever again
it belongs to my love, my confidant
it belongs to my best friend

When you look around you
What is it that you really see
Do you see life and beauty, compassion and love
Or pain and misery

The many ways we see things
Deem the ways in which we are seen
Our outlook, perception, our ability to perceive love
Even the human aspiration to dream
Do you seek to find the beauty in all

Do you see God's hands at work
Does the love in your heart shine through in your being
Do you strive to inflict not one hurt
Do you see God in the faces of your children

In the homeless and displaced on this earth
In the elderly, challenged, the sick and infirm
In all of these, His hands are at work
I see God in the births of my children

In my Mother's pride on my wedding day
In the eyes of my Husband the first time we shared
When remembering my Dad in some way
I pray for these Graces daily

These Blessings may He never take away
May His hands always touch my eyes so they see
His Graces....in all....everyday....
