The following poems were sent to me
with permission to use them....

This is the newest poem sent to me
with permission to use.  It reminds me
so much of my Mom, yellow being her favorite color.
Thank you Donna..

I Love Yellow

Daisies and Daffodils, roses too;
All are my favorite hue.
Butter and buttercups, gladiola tall.
Oh how do I love them all.

Vibrant and bright, there's only one -
Bringing cheer and light like the sun.
A rose, a flower, a pillow, a chair.
I like touches of yellow-"everywhere!"

Wonder what makes the canary sing?
It's the color of its feathers and wing.
Lemon pie, tart, yet sweet.
A golden yellow delight to eat.

Little chicks, and ducks, fluffy and soft
Sweet mown hay piled in a loft
Big pom pom mums in the fall.
Worn to the games by one and all.

Raincoats, umbrellas on a rainy day.
A flashlight beam to light the way.
The flame of a candle at night.
Chases darkness, and gives us light.

Little Things

A summer's breeze, a smiling child,
A daffodil that's growing wild,
A deep orange sunset in the West;
Those little things, I love the best.

A still dark night with fireflies,
The laughter in my mother's eyes,
A multicolored rainbow's end ...
Are little things that count, my friend.

A fuzzy warm puppy (licking my face),
Kisses with hugs and a loving embrace,
Rain pouring down on a roof made of tin,
Sitting under a shade (with a soft gentle wind);

Those little things make life worth living.
Being kind to a stranger, caring and giving,
Laughing and sharing your hopes and your dreams;
There is nothing more precious than those little things.

A HOME

A house is a place
Where your hat can be hung.
But, a home is a castle
From which love has sprung.

It's not the furnishings
That make a home.
It's where you'd rather be
When you begin to roam.

It's not a house
Of extravagant array,
But a haven for love
Born day after day.

So when you come home
From a hard days work,
Leave your troubles behind.
For, that's where anger can lurk.

Love one another
And be pleasant of mind.
Then, a house can be a home.
And there, God's love you will find.

A RARE FIND

There's no doubt in my heart.
There's no doubt in my mind.
Having a friend like you
Is such a rare find.

A friend that I can trust,
If I do really care to share,
Is a friend worth tending -
As you are always there.

A friend in whom I love,
On whom I can depend,
Is a friend for to keep -
Friends to the very end.
